Georgia Satellites emerged out of Atlanta in the early 1980s and quickly became a fixture in the rock scene with a raw, guitar-driven sound that fuses Southern rock, boogie, and blues-influenced grooves. Their self-titled debut album (1986) climbed to US Top 200 No. 5 and earned Platinum status, propelled by the hit single Keep Your Hands to Yourself, which peaked at No. 2 on the US Hot 100. Other mainstream successes include Battleship Chains (US Rock No. 11) and Open All Night (US Rock No. 6). The band paused in 1990, reformed in 1993 with Rick Richards as a constant member, and released Shaken Not Stirred in 1996 featuring new material and re-recordings. Fans celebrated a live-era restoration with Lightnin' in a Bottle, the Official Live Album released in 2022 on Cleveland International Records, capturing a classic 1988 Cleveland performance. In 2025, they have at least one confirmed date: March 1, 2025 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
