Program history and highlights
Georgia Tech’s women’s basketball program began in the GAIAW era (1974-75) and joined the ACC in 1979-80. The Jackets have made 11 NCAA tournament appearances and boast Sweet 16 runs in 2012 and 2021, signaling consistent national competitiveness.
Coaching transition
In April 2025, Karen Blair was named the seventh head coach of GT women’s basketball, bringing experience from Maryland as a longtime assistant/associate head coach. This transition marks a new chapter for GT, with emphasis on player development and continuing ACC competitiveness.
Home court
All GT women’s basketball home games are played at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, with a capacity of about 8,600. The arena creates an electric home-court advantage in a city known for its basketball passion.
2025-26 schedule highlights
The 2025-26 season features notable matchups, including Notre Dame visiting McCamish Pavilion on January 1, 2026. The ACC schedule includes a robust home slate in January and February, and the 2026 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is scheduled for Gas South Arena in Duluth, GA, March 4-8, 2026.
