The Germantown Symphony Orchestra (GSO) is a volunteer, nonprofit community orchestra serving the Mid-South with classical and pops programming. Founded in 1975 by six local musicians, the ensemble has grown to roughly 85 dedicated musicians who come together to share music with neighbors, students, and visitors. As the resident ensemble at GPAC, GSO presents a robust season of classical concerts each year alongside a lively summer pops series. This year marks the 50th anniversary season and 25 years with Music Director Dr. Ronald Vernon, a milestone celebrated by the city with a proclamation of GSO Day in 2016.
