Gibby Haynes is a pioneering figure in the Texas underground scene and a cornerstone of alternative rock. Best known as the co-founder and lead singer of Butthole Surfers, he has shaped underground music since 1981 with a fearless, genre-bending approach that blends psychedelic adventure, abrasive energy, and sharp wit. In addition to his work with the Surfers, Gibby has pursued solo projects, most notably Gibby Haynes & His Problem, releasing self-titled material in 2004 on Surfdog Records. He’s collaborated across genres, including a notable 2013 release with Jack White in the Third Man Blue Series. Gibby continues to tour and perform, bringing classic Butthole Surfers material and his broader repertoire to fans around the world.
