Gideon is a heavy, thrash-forward band formed in 2008 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Over more than a decade, they’ve grown from a local act into a recognized name in heavy music, evolving their sound while preserving a high-energy live show. The current lineup features Daniel McWhorter, Tyler Riley, Jake Smelley, and Caleb DeRusha, bringing together powerhouse guitars, relentless drums, and aggressive vocals.

After releasing six studio albums and shifting from the Christian/savior-focused scene to broader heavy music audiences, Gideon signed with Equal Vision Records for Cold and continued to push forward with a heavier direction.
