Good Humor Band emerged from Richmond, Virginia, in the mid-1970s as a perennial East Coast live-music favorite. Known for a versatile, set-list-free approach, they blended blues-rock with rock & roll and pub/country influences, delivering high-energy performances that kept audiences moving. The band’s early core included Mike McAdam and Jimmy Morgan, with a notable period featuring guitarist Danny Gatton, which helped raise their regional profile. A regional radio hit, Thirty Miles Outside of Richmond, cemented their place in the area’s music history.
