Gorecki's Fourth Symphony, officially titled Symphony No. 4: Tansman Episodes, is the final symphony of Henryk Górecki, completed posthumously by his son Mikolaj Górecki. The work stands as a poignant homage to Polish composer Alexander Tansman and blends contemporary intensity with Górecki’s signature lyricism. The world premiere took place on 12 April 2014 at Royal Festival Hall in London, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Andrey Boreyko. The piece was co-commissioned by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, and ZaterdagMatinee Amsterdam, reflecting its wide international resonance.
