Gostavo Ovalles is a celebrated percussionist and educator born in 1967 in Caracas, Venezuela. Renowned for his deep exploration of Afro-Venezuelan rhythms and his seamless fusion of jazz and world music, Ovalles has become a key figure in the contemporary Latin-jazz scene. A longtime collaborator with pianist Omar Sosa, he has contributed to influential projects such as Ayaguna and a wide range of SUBA/Aguas ensembles.
