Gran Ronde emerged from Los Angeles in 2004, blending post-punk energy with new wave sensibilities. With Chris Pearson on vocals and guitar, Bryan Hobbs on bass, Fernando Sanchez on drums, and Neil Parek on guitar, the band crafted a sound that drew comparisons to The National and Editors while keeping a distinct LA edge. Their early work helped shape the West Coast alt-rock scene of the late 2000s, earning critical attention from MTV and the LA Times.

Gran Ronde released their debut album Secret Rooms in 2008 via Filter US Recordings, with a 2009 re-release on Friends Vs Records. The band arrived with an early EP, On and On (February 2008, digital through Filter Recordings), which helped establish their post-punk/new wave lineage in influential press circles. After SXSW 2008 and notable performances in the 2007–2009 period, Gran Ronde continued to shape their alternative rock identity. While there are no publicly documented 2025 tour dates, the last widely reported activity centers around 2012 with the single 'Disappear Here' and the band’s live circuit from 2009. For fans and new listeners, Gran Ronde’s catalog remains a snapshot of a pivotal LA indie era. We’ll keep an eye out for future appearances and ticket opportunities as they come up.
