Grease with a side of Mumbo Sauce is a distinctive performer project produced by DC Black Broadway, led by Lovail M. Long, Sr. and Angelique Long. This production reimagines the classic Grease story through a DC-centric lens, fusing Go-Go rhythms and Ballou High School-era DC slang to create a fresh, neighborhood-driven experience. The show highlights Black DC culture, live musicians, and a cast drawn from the DC area, delivering an energetic look at community, music, and theatre.

As an artist/ensemble, the project blends theatrical storytelling with go-go's signature percussion and call-and-response dynamics, inviting audiences to secure their seats for an authentic, hometown performance. Past engagements include Go-Go inspired performances at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club ( Bethesda, MD, Aug 26–28, 2022) and Lincoln Theatre (Washington, DC, Sept 8–10, 2023). Notable DC cast members have included Gigi Riley (Candy/Rizzy) and Frank Scooby Marshall (Disco Dan), among other local musicians and performers.
