Gregory Williams is a versatile violist and performer based in the New York area, renowned for his work as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. Since 2015, he has served as Assistant Principal Viola of the Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra, and he is the Principal Violist of Parlando, with frequent appearances in concert series across New York City and beyond. Williams is also a key ensemble member of the Golden Williams Duo, a dynamic duo with Diana Golden that has delivered engaging performances at major venues and festivals, highlighting both repertoire and collaboration.

In February 2024, he released his debut solo album SHADOWS: The Unaccompanied Viola Sonatas of Günter Raphael on Affetto Records (Naxos family), marking a milestone in his recording career. Williams combines a strong concert career with active educational roles, teaching viola at Queens College (Aaron Copland School of Music) and previously at Eastman School of Music and the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
