Gretel Hanlyn crafts a distinctive blend of hi-fi grunge and goth-pop, weaving alt/indie ballad sensibilities into songs that pull from her influences like The Pixies, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, and Nick Cave. Since debuting with the single Slugeye in September 2021 and releasing the Slugeye EP in May 2022 via VLF Records, Gretel has built a reputation for kinetic performances and cinematic storytelling. Her second EP, Head Of The Love Club (March 2023, VLF Records), features tracks such as Drive, Today (can't help but cry), Wiggy, and King Of Nothing. Berlin Music Video Awards recognized her work with a Best Editor nomination for Drive in 2023. As she approaches a new era with Breadcrumb Records/AWAL, Gretel is touring the UK in 2025 with select London dates and new material like Unbloom arriving in August 2025.
