Gripin is a cornerstone of Turkish alternative rock, formed in Istanbul in 1999. With a sound that fused indie rock edge and pop sensibilities, they captivated audiences across Turkey and beyond. Their rise to prominence came in the mid-2000s with the critically acclaimed releases Hikayeler Anlatıldı (2004) and the self-titled Gripin album (2007), featuring memorable singles like “Böyle Kahpedir Dünya.” The band has earned major awards, including the Golden Butterfly (Altın Kelebek) for Best Newcoming Band in 2007. Over seven studio albums released through 2025, Gripin continues to evolve, culminating in the 2025 concept album Tek Buzlu.
