Hae Lee currently serves as Associate Conductor with the Richmond Symphony and as Conductor for the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra (RSYO). Her leadership role with RSYO highlights her commitment to nurturing young talent and building audiences for classical music across generations. Lee’s conducting style blends precision, expressive communication, and a collaborative approach that supports both the orchestra and soloists.
Educationally, Lee holds a BA in Conducting from the Korea National University of Arts and an MM in Conducting from the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Her rigorous training and international perspectives have shaped a versatile artistry that resonates with diverse audiences.
In the broader conducting community, Lee has earned recognition for her interpretive skill and leadership. Notably, she placed second in the 2023 Kussewitzky Conducting Competition in Italy and was a finalist at the Besançon Conducting Competition in France. She has also contributed as a jury member for the 4th Antal Doráti International Conducting Competition (2025), reflecting her respected standing among peers.
