Hal France Returns brings together a storied career in orchestral leadership, opera administration, and classical performance. From his early stage debut at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center in 1981 to shaping orchestral and operatic stages across the United States, France has left a lasting imprint on American classical music. He served as the first Music Director of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra (2000–2006), Artistic Director of Opera Omaha (1995–2005), and Music Director of Mobile Opera (1984–1990). In 2010, the Orlando Philharmonic staged a concert honoring his contributions with the title “Hal France Returns.” As of 2025, he joined the Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival as Production Director and has collaborated with the University of Nebraska Omaha as an adjunct professor and UNO Theatre faculty member.
