Handel's Jephtha is the final oratorio from the great German-British composer George Frideric Handel. With a libretto by Rev. Thomas Morell, the work draws on the biblical story of Jephthah from Judges. Handel began the project in the 18th century and contributed a poignant closing chapter to his stage works. This performer page covers the artistically rich lineage of Jephtha, highlights notable arias, and showcases both historic and contemporary recordings. It also highlights a forthcoming tour featuring renowned ensembles and vocalists in major European capitals and North American concert venues.
