Biography: Hard Rubber Orchestra (HRO) launched in 1990 under the direction of John Korsrud in Vancouver. This 18-piece ensemble fuses jazz, contemporary classical, and funk (avant-funk) into multimedia-rich performances. Over decades, HRO has become a mainstay of Canada’s experimental jazz scene, earning critical recognition and a distinctive sound that bridges improvisation with composed textures.
