Harptallica is a distinctive harp tribute project that reimagines Metallica's early material through concert harps, blending classical technique with heavy metal energy. Formed in 2006 by Ashley Lancz Toman and Patricia Kline as a two-harp homage to Metallica, the duo recorded Harptallica in November 2006 and released a self-titled album in 2007. After Patricia Kline left to pursue a doctorate, Mollie Marcuson joined the lineup, continuing the ensemble’s mission to bring a fresh, arrange-for-harp interpretation of pre-Black Album Metallica material. The project is celebrated for its niche, educational approach to arranging metal classics for harp, offering fans a unique listening experience that sits at the crossroads of classical and metal.
