Hartmut Haenchen is one of the most respected conductors of his generation, renowned for his deep interpretations of Wagner, Mahler, and Strauss. Born on March 21, 1943, in Dresden, Germany, Haenchen’s career spans opera houses and concert halls around the world. He led the Dutch National Opera as Music Director from 1986 to 1999 and has held key conducting roles with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest and the Nederlands Kamerorkest.
