Harvard Crimson Wrestling is the varsity program representing Harvard University in the Sport of wrestling. Under the leadership of the David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach, Jay Weiss, the program combines a storied EIWA legacy with a modern, competitive edge. Harvard wrestlers have earned multiple EIWA titles and produced standout national performers, contributing to a strong wrestling culture in Cambridge and beyond. Biography and program highlights

• EIWA champions and notable performers: 2001 marked Harvard’s first EIWA title, with Dawid Rechul (heavyweight) and Matt Picarsic (133) winning titles; Rechul earned the meet’s Most Outstanding Wrestler honors.
• Jesse Jantzen claimed EIWA titles for three consecutive years (2002–2004) at 149 pounds, later competing at the NCAA Championships.
• J.P. O’Connor (class of 2010) won the 157-pound EIWA title in 2010, finishing the season undefeated and competing at the NCAA Championship.
• Recent EIWA champions include Philip Conigliaro (165) in 2022 and Devon Gobbo (165) in 2016, maintaining Harvard’s strong presence in the conference.
• Head Coach: Jay Weiss, the David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling, continues a tradition of competitive excellence and athlete development.
