Hawaii Youth Symphony Tickets

The Hawaii Youth Symphony (HYS) is Hawaii’s only statewide youth orchestra program, proudly shaping young musicians since 1964. Serving roughly 650–700 students annually from nearly 100 schools across the islands, HYS offers a robust array of orchestral and educational experiences, including three full-symphonic orchestras, four string orchestras, and a dedicated Jazz program. In addition to year‑round ensembles, the organization runs enriching summer programs like Summer Strings and the Pacific Music Institute (PMI).

HYS performs free public concerts statewide, makes neighbor island tours, and presents Listen & Learn educational concerts that reach thousands of schoolchildren each year. The ensemble has earned recognition for artistic excellence, including a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award finalist nod in 2014 for He Makana O Nā Mele (The Gift of Music), and notable Side-by-Side collaborations with the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra (HSO). The 2024–2025 season marks a landmark 60th anniversary for the program, celebrating decades of community impact and musical growth.

Looking ahead, Hawaii Youth Symphony has an exciting 2025 tour slate. Plan to see them in Maui for a Community Concert on February 17, 2025, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. They’ll join forces with the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra for the Beethoven Festival Side-by-Side on March 12, 2025, at Blaisdell Concert Hall, followed by another Side-by-Side engagement on July 13, 2025, at Blaisdell Concert Hall.
