Helga Schuaerte was born in Lennestadt, Germany, on March 8, 1957. She serves as an organist at the Christuskirche in Paris, a prominent church with a rich musical tradition, and she is a professor at the Conservatoire Nadia et Lili Boulanger in Paris. Her career spans performance, education, and musicology, with a focus on the German and French organ repertoires.

As a recording artist, Schuaerte has unveiled the complete organ works of Jehan Alain, Dietrich Buxtehude, and J.S. Bach, along with artist portraits on the Syrius and Motette labels.
