Hello Kavita is a Denver-rooted indie rock/Americana project that first emerged in 2007 under the name Kettle Black, before adopting the Hello Kavita moniker to avoid a naming conflict. Central figure Corey Teruya helped shape the sound that connected with listeners who loved earthy melodies and 70s-inspired textures, embedded in the Denver scene of that era. The project produced two official albums, explored intimate lyric storytelling, and remains a notable footprint in early Colorado indie circles.
