Henry Threadgill stands as one of jazz’s most innovative composers and bandleaders. Since the 1970s, he has redefined ensemble sound through unconventional instrumentation and fearless improvisation. A Pulitzer Prize winner (2016) for In for a Penny, In for a Pound with Zooid, Threadgill leads landmark groups—Air, Very Very Circus, Make A Move, and Zooid—pushing the boundaries of form and texture.
