Herbert Knebel is a cornerstone of German cabaret, best known as the co-creator of Affentheater, the playful and provocative blend of music, comedy, and theatre. Created in the late 1980s by Uwe Lyko, Knebel helped launch a performance collective that has now staged over 1,000 live shows across Germany. Affentheater translates popular rock and pop songs into humorous, theatrical pieces, drawing audiences with sharp wit, catchy melodies, and a distinctive on-stage energy.
