Biography
Hi-ker emerged from Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a collaborative project featuring Kohl Sprader, Chris Ryan, and Spencer Gordon. Their sound blends indie pop with electronic textures and synth-pop flourishes, creating immersive tunes that sit comfortably between catchy melodies and experimental sound design. The trio self-released their debut self-titled EP in 2014, which later earned recognition as a finalist for Best Album by a New Artist at the Jammie Awards, as reported by Local Spins in 2015. The band continued to release material independently, including Lippe (2017) and Misery Is Manifold EP (2019), culminating in the 2020 single The Fold.
