Hilken Mancini is a pivotal figure in Boston’s indie rock landscape, renowned for her powerful vocals, songwriting, and community activism. Co‑founder of Punk Rock Aerobics with Maura Jasper, she helped empower youth through music and participated in Girls Rock Campaign Boston since 2010. As the frontwoman of Fuzzy, Hilken contributed to defining 90s Boston indie rock with their self‑titled debut (1994) and the Electric Juices album (1996). Their song Flashlight earned recognition from Rolling Stone as one of the 50 Best Songs of the 1990s. Beyond studio work, Mancini has opened for major acts, including a Fenway Park appearance with Foo Fighters in 2018 alongside The Monsieurs, underscoring her enduring presence in the Boston scene. In 2024, she released the Hilken Mancini Band under Girlsville, with the debut single Weight dropping in September 2024 and the LP released on October 25, 2024. A May 10, 2025 release party at Sonia in Cambridge highlighted ongoing activity. The 2025 tour includes a June 15 show at The Sinclair and a July 19 performance on the Seven Hills Stage in Somerville.
