People behind the production
Hochelaga, Terre Des Ames is a multidisciplinary performer linked to a project grounded in historical drama and linguistic diversity. With elements spanning French, English, Mohawk, and Algonquin languages, this performer contributes to a rich tapestry of storytelling that resonates across cultures. The project is associated with celebrated filmmaker François Girard and producer Roger Frappier, and it features a cast that includes Samian (Baptiste Asigny), Sébastien Ricard, Vincent Perez, along with Raoul Trujillo and Tanaya Beatty. The accompanying original score was crafted by Terry Riley and his son Gyan Riley, with the Kronos Quartet contributing to the musical landscape. While the project earned Canada’s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2018 Oscars, it did not advance to the final nominations. In Quebec cinema circles, it received multiple recognitions during its cycle at Gala Québec Cinéma and festival screenings. For 2025, there is no confirmed live tour; availability typically comes through film festivals or distributor venues.
