Holograms formed in 2011 in Stockholm, Sweden, emerging from a tight-knit local scene of four musicians with a shared love for driving synths, sharp guitars, and a DIY spirit. The band quickly carved out a sound that merges classic post-punk with new wave sensibilities, drawing influence from Joy Division, late-70s/early-80s synth-driven music, and the energy of DIY punk. Behind Holograms is a collaboration of four Stockholm-based musicians who created their first full-length in 2012 and continued to push their sonic boundaries through the mid-2010s.
