Relocating to the United States in 2001 and based in Fremont, California, Sakhi has expanded the rubab’s technique and aesthetics through cross-cultural collaborations, performances, and teaching. He is celebrated for bridging Afghan musical heritage with global musical dialogues, earning recognition in the BBC World Music sphere and involvement in Smithsonian Folkways releases.
