Honor Band Choir And Strings is a premier performer group hosted by the University of North Dakota Department of Music. Known for bringing together talented choral and string ensembles from across the region, this group showcases the creative depth of UND’s music program. The annual festival draws hundreds of students from North Dakota and Minnesota, with more than 380 students selected from 900 auditioning in 2025. The public experiences the festival through two primary concerts at the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center (CFPAC) in Grand Forks: the Friday Showcase Concert and the Sunday main concert. Participation for selected students is free, while public tickets for weekend concerts are available for those looking to enjoy this high-caliber musical event. The 41st annual festival is planned for January 23–25, 2026, following the 40th annual festival in January 2025 before the postponement caused by severe cold. UND Music manages the ensemble’s social media presence and follows the university’s official policies for account administration.
