Hooman Khalatbari is a renowned pianist and conductor blending classical mastery with contemporary world music. Born in Tehran in 1969, he studied at Tehran University of Art and Graz University of Music and Performing Arts. He served as principal pianist with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra (1988–1996) and later held leadership roles abroad, including Principal Conductor of the Prague Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra (2014–2016) and Honorary Conductor of Virtuosi Brunenses since 2016. In 2021, he co-founded Shoosh Ensemble and serves as its musical director, championing fusion, world music, and innovative concert formats. He directs Klassik Festival Schloss Kirchstetten and conducts the Klassik unter Sternen series at Schloss Kirchstetten. His collaborations span premieres and cross-genre works, including the world premiere of the Simorq project with Homayoun Shajarian and Hamid Motebassem. Khalatbari’s discography includes Baaraan Baaraaneh (1993), Ey Vatan (1995), Caspi (2022), and Hoor (2023).
