Hossein Alizadeh, born August 24, 1951 in Tehran, is one of Iran’s leading contemporary Persian classical musicians. A renowned composer and instrumentalist, he has shaped modern Persian music through rigorous technique, deep tradition, and cross-cultural collaboration. He founded the Hamavayan Ensemble in 1989, a key project dedicated to Persian choral-instrumental reinterpretations that blends classical forms with innovative arrangements. Alizadeh’s work spans performance, composition, and education, making him a central figure in Iranian and world music scenes across Europe, North America, and beyond.
