House of Large Sizes emerged from Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1986, delivering a distinctive blend of alternative rock with Pixies-influenced pop-punk energy and occasional hardcore and metal inflections. With core collaborators Dave Deibler (guitar/vocals) and Barb Schilf (bass/vocals), the band has left a lasting mark on the Midwest indie scene. In 2023, they were inducted into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, recognizing their enduring contribution to the region’s music culture. While public touring slowed after 2023, the group’s legacy continues through the members’ ongoing work with Octopus, a Cedar Falls venue that keeps the band’s footprint active on social media and in local music conversations. Here, you’ll find a concise biography, a snapshot of their discography, and notes on upcoming tour activity as information becomes available.
