I Am Queen Charlotte is an all-original storytelling production by Epoch Tribe, centered on Black women in Charlotte. Created and produced by Hannah Hasan and Shardae Hasan, the show fuses theatre, music, movement, and visuals to tell personal and communal stories. The production centers a rotating cohort called the ‘Queens,’ selected by the community to illuminate diverse experiences and voices. The show represents a bold, intimate blend of performance that supports local artists and engages audiences with powerful storytelling.

Charlotte’s debut and ongoing run have included engagements at the Knight Theater and collaborations with CIAF in 2022, followed by continued productions, including a 2024 Spring class of Queens. The project has also extended its reach beyond Charlotte, with the Nashville edition, I Am Queen: Nashville, touring as a one-night event on April 19, 2025 at the Polk Theater in TPAC, Nashville, TN.
