The Illinoi Shakespeare Festival (ISF) is a storied performing arts company produced by Illinois State University’s School of Theatre, Dance, and Film. Since its founding in 1978, ISF has brought classic and contemporary Shakespeare and related works to audiences across central Illinois. With mainstage productions staged at the Ewing Theatre (Ewing Cultural Center) in Bloomington and at the Center for the Performing Arts on ISU’s campus in Normal, ISF reaches over 10,000 patrons each season. The festival also expands Shakespeare’s reach with free Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) performances and Bard in a Box touring that brings interactive theatre experiences to schools and community centers. ISF also runs internships and Youth Camps each summer, building a pipeline for young artists.
