Illinois-Chicago Flames Hockey is a storied name in Chicago hockey history. The program operated as an NCAA Division I team from 1982 to 1996 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) and played home games at the UIC Pavilion, now known as Credit Union 1 Arena. Though discontinued after the 1995–96 season due to financial losses, the Flames left a lasting legacy with notable NHL alumni and a rich campus-hockey heritage. Today, hockey continues on campus as a student-organized club, with no official 2025 Division I schedule for UIC.
