The Improv Comedy Club is more than a venue; it’s a cornerstone of modern stand-up. Founded in 1963 in New York City by Budd Friedman as The Improv, it introduced the brick-wall stage concept that gave comedians room to improvise and connect with audiences. Over the decades, the brand helped launch countless careers and produced the television series An Evening at The Improv, which aired on A&E from 1982–1996. Today, the Improv operates a nationwide network of 20+ clubs, delivering live comedy across a variety of intimate rooms designed for a classic, no-fuss experience. In 2018, the brand joined the Levity Entertainment Group, expanding its club footprint and elevating guest services. The Shoulda’ Been There campaign, launched in 2023, celebrates the Improv’s enduring legacy while inviting new audiences to experience live comedy at its best. Note: There isn’t a single centralized 2025 Improv tour; shows are booked per venue. Navigate your city’s Improv for the next night of laughs and secure your seats with us.
