Infernal Comedy is a unique, genre-defying performance that brings together a solo actor, a full baroque orchestra, and two operatic sopranos for a dramatized concert experience. Conceived for the screen and stage by Michael Sturminger and conducted by Martin Haselböck of the Orchester Wiener Akademie, this production explores the life of the Austrian serial killer Jack Unterweger through a fusion of narrative, arias, and ensemble pieces from composers like Mozart, Vivaldi, Haydn, Beethoven, and Boccherini. The show debuted in Los Angeles in 2008 with John Malkovich in the title role, offering audiences a gripping blend of theatre and concert performance.
