Inside Out rose from Orange County, California, as a foundational force in the early hardcore punk and melodic hardcore scenes. Formed in 1988, the band quickly became a touchstone for fans of aggressive, emotionally charged music. They are best known for their influential EP No Spiritual Surrender (1990) on Revelation Records, a release that helped shape a generation of bands and fans who value raw energy, fast guitars, and introspective lyrics. A notable member, Zack de la Rocha, would later go on to form Rage Against the Machine, linking Inside Out to a wider arc of American rock history.
