Ionesco Suite Tickets

Ionesco Suite is a cutting-edge performer project that blends theatrical text with live music to create intimate, immersive performances. Directed by Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota for the Ensemble artistique of Théâtre de la Ville, with music by Jefferson Lembeye and Walter N’Guyen, this piece reimagines the Ionesco canon as a mosaic framed around a dinner party. Since 2005, it has toured internationally, inviting audiences into laboratories of language, gesture, and sound.

Rooted in a laboratory culture, Ionesco Suite assembles select texts from Ionesco’s body of work—La Cantatrice Calva, La Lezione, Jacques, Delirio a due, Esercizi di conversazione, and French diction—into a coherent, associative journey. The project travels with a flexible format that adapts to different venues while preserving the intimate intensity of the original iterations.

On tour today, Ionesco Suite continues to engage new audiences in Africa and Europe, bringing a unique interdisciplinary experience to stages from Yaoundé to Florence. We’ve got you covered for secure, straightforward access to these performances and accompanying materials.

Upcoming engagements include performances in Yaoundé and Douala, Cameroon, in April 2025, followed by Ionesco Suite – Frammenti in Florence, Italy, from May 16–18, 2025. Each date is presented as its own standalone experience, with a focus on the ensemble’s collaborative spirit and the interplay of theatre, music, and language.
