Irene Jalenti is a dynamic jazz vocalist, songwriter, and arranger born in Italy and now based in Maryland. Since joining the DMV jazz scene as a faculty member at Howard University, Irene has been a guiding voice for vocal jazz, directing the university’s vocal jazz ensemble and contributing to a vibrant community of musicians and listeners.

Her debut album, Dawn (Antidote Sounds, 2021), features collaborations with artists like Sean Jones (trumpet) and Warren Wolf (vibraphone), blending blues, jazz standards, and Latin/new-music influences. The 2021 single Alma Desnuda showcased her ability to fuse lyrical storytelling with a rich, versatile vocal palette.
