Isaiah Spencer is aChicago-based drummer, percussion educator, and bandleader whose work sits at the intersection of jazz, blues, and Afro-Clex influence. Known for a propulsive, incendiary approach that drivers the energy of a live audience, Spencer leads a quintet that brings a fresh voice to the city’s vibrant jazz scene. In addition to leading ensembles, he teaches percussion and serves as an assistant band director at New Trier High School, where he also runs a drum camp, helping cultivate the next generation of musicians.
