Island Symphony Orchestra Tickets

Founded in 1971 by Paul Rudoff as the Island Senior Citizens’ Orchestra, Island Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit, all-volunteer ensemble serving Long Island with vibrant classical performance and community education. Today, the orchestra comprises approximately 60 active members who come together to share music, mentor aspiring artists, and bring accessible live classical experiences to audiences across the region.

Two public concerts are presented annually across Long Island, typically at Bay Shore’s St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church. These performances are often free or low-cost, underwritten by generous donors and supporters who believe in the power of live music to inspire and connect communities.

In addition to performances, ISO runs educational initiatives such as the Dr. Howard Cinnamon Scholarship Fund and the annual Young Performers Competition, which has provided 25+ performance opportunities to prizewinners, helping nurture the next generation of classical musicians.

Upcoming ISO highlights include the 2025 Fall Concert with guest artist Adam Golka (Opening Concert of the 2025-26 season) on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Bay Shore. The Spring 2025 program featured the world premiere Sinfonietta Pastorale on March 23, 2025, at the same venue, with Mindy Kaufman of the NY Philharmonic on piccolo. The 2025-26 season is billed as the Season of Stars, with guest artists such as Adam Golka, Lun Li, and Nina Bernat, plus Bach-focused programming, a January Bach Festival, and a March Romantic Age concert. All performances are staged with a focus on accessibility and community engagement, aligning with ISO’s mission to enrich Long Island through music.
