Jaguar Love is an indie rock project born from the creative collaboration of Cody Votolato and Johnny Whitney, veterans of The Blood Brothers. Formed in 2007 in the Pacific Northwest, the duo quickly drew attention for their cinematic soundscapes, punk energy, and experimental pop sensibilities. They signed with Matador Records in early 2008 and released their debut full-length Take Me to the Sea later that year, along with the Jaguar Love EP that helped set the stage for their distinctive style. Over the next year, Jaguar Love toured across Europe and the United States, playing major festivals and earning coverage from Pitchfork, NME, and The Guardian. Although the band has been inactive since 2010 and public tour plans for 2025 have not been announced, their music remains available for new listeners on streaming platforms and Bandcamp. This page provides a concise biography, highlights from their discography, and context for Jaguar Love’s enduring impact on indie rock.
