Biography
Jahtiva emerged as a compelling voice in reggae-adjacent music, quickly gaining traction through collaborations and a rapid release schedule. The debut EP, Medicine Woman, dropped on July 23, 2024, under Fishers of People Records and was crafted with an all-star reggae lineup that included legendary bassist Santa Davis and producer Fabian Cooke. This project set the tone for Jahtiva’s sound: soulful vocals layered over authentic, drum-driven grooves with a modern edge.
Jahtiva followed with Crucial Lover, released on April 1, 2025. This sophomore EP expanded the circle to feature members from Slightly Stoopid, The Aggrolites, Dubbest, and E.N. Young, with mixing by Fabian Cooke—cementing Jahtiva’s status within a tight-knit reggae and roots rock community.
2025 brought a full-length milestone, Ghost Train, released October 22, 2025, in collaboration with Man of the Forests and released via Fishers of People Records. The album continued Jahtiva’s trajectory of high-profile collaborations and genre-blending composition.
In addition to studio work, Jahtiva released Wake Up on September 26, 2025, continuing the rapid expansion of a diverse catalog. Live appearances include guesting with Fortunate Youth and performing at Reggae Rise Up Oregon 2025, highlighting a growing presence on festival stages.
Jahtiva’s touring footprint in 2025 featured notable West Coast shows on the Road to Reggae Rise Up Oregon tour, including a June 14 stop at Music Box in San Diego, an August 23 performance at Rising Phoenix Taproom in King City, and an August 24 show at Buena Vista Brewing Co in Watsonville. These dates reflect a strategic, touring-focused approach that emphasizes intimate venues and festival showcases alike.
