Jaimoe, born July 8, 1944 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, is a foundational force in rock and blues, best known as the original drummer and co-founder of the Allman Brothers Band (ABB). As the last surviving original ABB member as of 2024, he carries a legacy of blazing grooves, improvisation, and timeless rhythms that helped shape Southern rock and blues-rock as we know them. Beyond ABB, Jaimoe fronts Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, a dynamic jazz-rock outfit that blends soulful blues with improvisational jazz flair. He’s earned induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of ABB (1995) and a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award (2012). In 2017, Mississippi recognized him with a state Arts Lifetime Achievement Award.
