Welcome to the performer page for the Jan and Beattie Wood Concerto Competition Finals, a marquee Brevard Music Center institute event in Brevard, North Carolina. Named for generous donors Jan and Beattie Wood, this prestigious competition is open to all full-session Brevard instrumental students and culminates in a grand finals performance at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium. Memorization and piano accompaniment are required for all rounds. Winners receive a full scholarship to attend Brevard the following summer and perform with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra in Soloists of Tomorrow.

Event details: Finals take place at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium, Brevard, NC (capacity ~1,800). The 2025 format features video-based preliminary rounds in May, on-campus semifinals, and a final round in early July. Winners perform with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra on July 27, 2025 in Soloists of Tomorrow, plus a full scholarship for the next summer. The 2025 repertoire includes standard concerto works across piano and violin, as published by Brevard.
