Janet Sung is a renowned violinist and educator whose career blends performance, teaching, and artistic leadership. Debuting with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at age 9, she has grown into a multifaceted artist with a strong scholarly background, holding a BA in music and anthropology from Harvard University and an MM in violin performance from Juilliard. Since December 15, 2021, she has served as the Artistic Director of the Meadowmount School of Music, guiding generations of young musicians through a rigorous summer program that celebrates tradition and innovation in classical music. In parallel, she teaches as Professor of Violin and Strings Coordinator at DePaul University and contributes to Juilliard’s teaching initiatives. Her artistic voice extends through recordings and world premieres that highlight contemporary voices alongside core violin repertoire.
