J.D. Wilkes is a driving force in American roots music, blending rockabilly, blues, country, and swampy Southern Gothic into a commanding live show. Born April 18, 1972 in Baytown, Texas and now based in Kentucky, Wilkes leads a prolific career as a performer, songwriter, and author. He is the frontman of the Legendary Shack Shakers and the helm of The Dirt Daubers, a duo project with his wife Jessica. Whether on stage as a bandleader or in intimate club settings, Wilkes brings a distinctive voice, fierce storytelling, and a treasure trove of songs that echo the South’s darkest and liveliest corners.
